The Power of Praise
People do not realise the power of praise.
• Praise promotes God and His power in your life.
As you continue to praise, God’s power will permeate your life.
• Praise promotes Godly emotion in your life.
Fear for instance is an emotion, but when you begin to praise, your emotions and perceptions change and you tap into joy.
• Praise is a weapon.
King Jehoshaphat appointed people to praise God as they went before the army. “Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated,” (2 Chronicles 20:14-22).
• Praise in prayer brings breakthroughs.
Paul and Silas were kept securely in the inner prison with stocks on their feet. At midnight as they began praising God, an impossible situation was transformed, as an earthquake shook the foundation; doors flew open and chains were loosed. The greater miracle here however, was the Jailor’s and his household acceptance of Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
• See the right picture and give praise unto God.
Take down all those pictures from your past which condemns you. For “how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
Praise is to celebrate His greatness…praise is power.
