The Divine Order
“My cup runs over,” Psalm 23:5. We know this is the will of God for us. We also know that to receive it we need to store up our “treasures in heaven,” where neither moth nor rust; nor inflation or deflation destroys. How do we do this? By tithing and giving to the gospel. Yet, there is a divine order to follow. “For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order,” 1 Chronicles 15:13.
When we give back to God what belongs to Him we are showing our gratitude, “giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light,” Colossians 1:12. Yet, how do we choose our place of giving? The word says “go to the place where the LORD your God chooses to make His name abide,” Deuteronomy 26:2.
Are they teaching the word here? Do they operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit?
Who do we make our offering to? You are bringing it to the great High Priest, who gives it to our heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is our High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek and upon our confession His office is activated on your behalf.
Giving is an act of worship. Do not wait while the offering bag is being passed around to make your decision. When we finance His Kingdom to prosper it, God will bless you.
